Driving Directions

From Downtown Washington, D.C.
Take Rt. 66 West* to Exit 69 (Sycamore Street/Falls Church). Bear right off the exit onto Sycamore Street. Go through two stop lights and take the next left onto 26th Street. Take an immediate right onto Trinidad Street. Bishop O’Connell High School is located on the left.

From Northwest Washington, D.C.
Take Arizona Avenue to Canal Road and take a right onto Canal Road. Go across Chain Bridge into Virginia and follow Glebe Road to Lee Highway. Turn right onto Lee Highway and follow to the fifth traffic light at Sycamore Street. Turn right onto Sycamore Street and go one block. Turn left onto 26th Street and then an immediate right onto Trinidad Street. Bishop O’Connell High School is located on the left.

From I-495 in Virginia
Take Rt. 66 East* to Exit 69 (Lee Highway/Washington Blvd.). Go to traffic light at end of ramp and turn left onto Lee Highway. Go two blocks and turn left onto Underwood Street. Continue on Underwood for about three blocks. Bishop O’Connell High School is located on the right.

*Please be aware that eastbound I-66 inside the Capital Beltway is restricted to HOV-2 vehicles between the hours of 6:30 a.m and 9 a.m. Westbound I-66 is restricted to HOV-2 vehicles between 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.


Public Transportation

By Metro

Bishop O’Connell High School is a 10-15 minute walk from the East Falls Church Metro Station (Orange and Silver Line):

Take the Orange or Silver Line to the East Falls Church Metro Stop.
Go NORTH on Sycamore Street about 0.6 miles.
Turn LEFT onto 26th Street N. about 0.04 miles
Turn RIGHT onto North Trinidad Street about 0.20 miles.
Bishop O’Connell High School is on the left as you approach Little Falls Road.

By Bus

Arlington Transit operates bus route #52 which stops on Trinidad Street right in front of the school. This bus travels between the Ballston Metro and the East Falls Church Metro in regular intervals. Find the route map and timetable HERE.

Meals

Bishop O’Connell does not offer cafeteria services. There will be one or two food trucks parked outside of the school each day for convenient lunch options.

 

 

Recreation

Washington DC is a great city for sightseeing: The US Capitol, The White House, various monuments, The Library of Congress. Great museums with free admission: Air & Space, National Art Gallery, Natural History, American History, American Indian, African, Asian, Hirshhorn (Sculpture), George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate and garden, National Arboretum with Bonsai pavilions, etc. Not to mention a world of outstanding culinary diversity all accessible by DC’s metro rail.
